Managing Partner and Chief Customer Officer
Mr. Goodwin is a proven leader and corporate executive with over 25 years’ experience in the information technology, data center and managed services sectors; and a strong digital infrastructure advocate for under-served broadband markets. Mr. Goodwin serves as Managing Partner and Chief Customer Officer of Yyotta where he is responsible for the business strategy, customer acquisition and experience, solutions engineering, sales, and marketing.
Before Yyotta, Mr. Goodwin served as a Partner and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, at Bytegrid Holdings LLC, a start-up national data center owner, operator and managed services company serving security-sensitive, mission-critical IT needs of large enterprise, academia, government and industry growing the platform from Washington, DC to Seattle, Washington. Before Bytegrid Holdings LLC, Mr. Goodwin was the Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of Latisys (now NYSE: ZAYO), a national colocation, managed hosting and cloud services company. Under his leadership, he developed the new brand and drove three-fold revenue growth through organic sales, business development, and acquisition, catapulting a small data center holding company into a national service provider. Previously, Mr. Goodwin was Vice President Sales and Marketing of NTT America, the US Enterprise Hosting Business Unit of the world’s largest telecommunications company, NTT Communications (NYSE: NTT). At NTT America, Mr. Goodwin led the company into e-commerce, social and digital media high-growth managed hosting markets serving young companies like Twitter, Live Person among other internet-based businesses.
Earlier Mr. Goodwin served as the Vice President Channel and Strategic Alliances for SAVVIS (acquired by CenturyLink NYSE: CTL, and then subsequently data center assets sold to Cyxtera), during its high-growth phase. Earlier years of his career he was with startups PSINet (the industry’s first Internet Service Provider) and Iridium (the world’s first global satellite wireless service provider). Mr. Goodwin began his career at LMR Systems, in the Washington, DC area, spearheading along with his father and the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), the industry’s first shared Federal mobile communications network called FedSMR℠.
Mr. Goodwin is a founding member of the Tech Council of Maryland’s MIT Venture Mentor Service. He lives in Washington, DC with this wife and four daughters and is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
