Gerry Fay serves as a Managing Partner at Yyotta, where is he responsible for executive business development of the company. He is a highly accomplished real estate and technology executive with a rich history of success acquiring, developing, leasing, and operating of over five million square feet of data center space in the United States. Gerry was responsible for and involved: in early stage development of Terremark Worldwide (now Verizon) including leasing of the Technology Center of the Americas (TECOTA), a landmark 750,000 square foot (SF) data center in downtown Miami, FL, and to winning the award of the Network Access Point (NAP) of the Americas’ contract, the first Terremark Tier-One international NAP. Today, a 150,000 SF peering facility for over 600 global networks in TECOTA. Other notable developments include:
- the redevelopment of an existing 335,000 SF data center for the consolidation of US federal groups as an Alternate Computing Facility for customers of the Architect of the Capitol in response to then newly established US Patriot Act for Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP).
- assemble approximately 65 acres of commercial land known as the Innovation Executive Center in Manassas, Virginia and the planning of a high-density computing campus supporting the bio-forensic education and training programs of George Mason University (GMU) for the benefit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Institutes of Health located next door in Innovation Technology Park of Prince William County, Virginia.
- awarded the Facility Mega Center contract with the US Government for a 120,000 SF Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) of secure office and data center space with classified connectivity for the mission critical operations of the cleared Department of Defense contracting community.
- redeveloped a legacy AT&T Disaster Recovery (DR) data center property in Middletown, Virginia trading as Experis Data Centers LLC, serving as compliant DR solutions in the Washington metropolitan commercial market and for COOP solutions in the US federal market.
Gerry Fay began his data center career with Tishman Realty and Construction (now AECOM) in the mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Fay is a graduate of Villanova University, where he remains the all-time career assist-leader for the Men’s Varsity Soccer Program. Gerry was a former president of the Maryland/DC Chapter of NAIOP, and a consistent annual top-producer among the Greater Washington DC Board of Realtors in commercial real estate leasing and sales.
